The inaugural Trainers Appreciation Day

Perth Racing, in collaboration with the Western Australian Racing Trainers Association, is proud to present the inaugural Trainers Appreciation Day at Belmont Park Racecourse on Saturday 9 August.

This special raceday recognises the outstanding contributions of WA trainers, past and present, whose dedication helps shape the fabric of our industry.

Held one week after Jockey Celebration Day (Saturday 2 August), Trainers Appreciation Day offers a fitting tribute to another pillar of our sport: the men and women whose passion, skill, and behind-the-scenes commitment help drive the success of thoroughbred racing in WA and beyond.

This year’s honourees have been selected to represent excellence in WA training, celebrating WA Racing Hall of Fame members still active, commemorating legendary figures from past generations, and recognising current leaders in our sport:

  • Neville Parnham – current trainer, Hall of Fame
  • Lou Luciani – current trainer, Hall of Fame
  • Bert Harrison – Hall of Fame
  • Len Pike – Hall of Fame
  • Albert Jordan – Hall of Fame
  • Grant & Alana Williams – leading metro trainers 2024/25

This event marks the beginning of a new annual tradition, one that celebrates and recognises the early mornings, long hours, and lifelong service of WA’s training ranks.

We look forward to welcoming you to Belmont Park on Saturday 9 August to celebrate Trainers Appreciation Day.
