Perth Racing is pleased to confirm that the thorough assessments of the Belmont Park Racecourse track have been successfully completed ahead of the scheduled return to racing.
Following initial practical testing last Tuesday, additional assessments were conducted across the weekend and today. Horses worked over the remediated surface on Saturday 19 July, followed by a series of official trials (trials 3, 4 and 5) held on the course proper this morning, Monday 21 July.
Consultation with stewards, jockeys, and Perth Racing’s track management team has confirmed that the surface is performing to expectations, with no concerns raised by key stakeholders. Racing is set to return to Belmont Park on Saturday 26 July, with the program headlined by the running of the Belmont Classic. Perth Racing will continue to monitor weather conditions closely in the lead-up and will provide further updates if required.
